Forico is Tasmania’s largest private forest manager, with custodianship of around 173,000 hectares of land across the state.
Our globally certified forests consist of 89,000 hectares of plantation, managed for wood fibre production, and 77,000 hectares of natural forest managed for conservation, biodiversity and cultural values.
We strongly believe forest products and nature-based solutions can make a positive contribution to the mitigation of climate change and the transition to a circular economy.
Forico has released a world-leading and Australian first Natural Capital Report, setting a benchmark for business and industry in environmental stewardship and corporate sustainability reporting.
In March 2023 Forico was awarded a prestigious Banksia Foundation National Sustainability Award. The awards recognise outstanding achievements that integrate sustainability principles and practices across business activities and outcomes.
Forico has also published a world-first illustrative example of a report integrating the Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) methodologies in financial decision-making.
We began our reconciliation journey with the publication of a Reflect Reconciliation Plan (RAP). We consider it essential that we engage with and learn from Aboriginal communities who have been custodians of the natural environment for generations.
