Forico is committed to operating as a sustainable and widely respected business within the Tasmanian community.
We believe this can be achieved by an inclusive and collaborative approach to the way we conduct our business activities, backed by sound management of our forest based resources.
The key assets of our business comprise plantations for the production of wood products, with associated processing and export facilities. Our plantation properties are widely dispersed among the broader Tasmanian landscape. They include significant areas of natural forests, grasslands and other assets of value to the community in general.
Creating value is an important aspect of the Forico business. To us, value creation encompasses social, cultural, environmental and economic principles.
We aim to achieve value creation by:
- Striving to achieve zero harm to people, assets and the environment.
- Fully using the potential to grow and supply plantation based forest products and increase the productive capacity of these areas.
- Maintaining, protect and enhancing the environmental, social and cultural values within the forested and associated landscape we manage.
- Fostering communication through constructive and meaningful relationships with stakeholders.
We monitor achievement of our aims via independent third party certification audits and other compliance reporting, the majority of which are available to the public.
We are committed to achieving sustainable forest management results across all aspects of our business.
