Laminated flooring products

Development of high-mass laminated flooring products from fibre-managed plantation hardwood.

This was a collaborative research project with the University of Tasmania and was part funded by Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA). The project proved that the current eucalypt plantations grown in Tasmania targeted at pulpwood production can be used as laminated floor panels to provide additional options in the building sector. This project was recently completed.

Cost effective power from forest and mill waste

Feasibility study into dispatchable, cost effective power from forest and mill waste using the direct injection carbon engine.

This is a collaborative research project with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) funded through the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA). The project seeks to understand the suitability of mill and forest residues as a carbon based, water soluble fuel for a combustion engine.
