Long Reach Mill is Forico’s ultimate site for supply chain integration. At this site we receive plantation logs and plantation sawmill residues for processing in a purpose built facility. This is located directly alongside our exclusive-use deep-water port, which can accommodate some of the largest woodchip vessels in the world.
The mill has processing capability for three different timber species, providing leverage in handling the diversity of Forico's forest estate in the northeast and southeast of Tasmania. With unutilised port and processing facilities on a northern part of the site, Forico is exploring options to deliver further value to this asset over time.
The team at Long Reach Mill work a double shift system, often completing processing and loading of product onto vessels during public holidays, year-round.
