Branching out…
The Long Reach Mill is a picturesque 30-minute drive from Launceston on the East Tamar. We receive 100% plantation grown sustainable wood, process this, and export for use in pulp and paper products. Long Reach deep-water port accommodates some of the largest woodchip vessels in the world. The mill is currently in the process of capital project investment and looking at continual improvement to deliver further value.
We are seeking applications from people who are suitably qualified and experienced to join our team as a Mechanical Tradesperson, providing trade services to facilitate the safe, efficient and cost effective processing and supply of woodchips to meet customer and environmental expectations. The successful incumbent will work as a member of the Long Reach Mill operations and mechanical trades teams, who work a rotating Monday to Friday roster, comprising of morning and afternoon shifts.
Who will join our journey…
Applicants must have a mechanical trade qualification and experience working in a heavy industrial environment. Experience in the forestry industry or a processing industry would be advantageous, and similarly, knowledge of mill operating facilities or an equivalent industry would be looked upon favourably.
Our ideal candidate will be a safety champion and have a strong environment awareness, have excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong work relationships, have solid organisational skills, show attention to detail, be able to meet tight deadlines, be computer proficient, and have the ability to work autonomously or as a member of the team.
