The bare roots of the job ...
Quality data is the foundation of quality analytics and modelling. The GIS Officer will provide operational support in GIS, resource and inventory systems across the business.
The role holds key responsibility to ensure high quality capture, maintenance, validation and delivery of relating to Forico’s managed assets, in accordance with defined data governance standards, including AI-ready metadata.
As part of the Resource Information Team working with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise environments, the GIS Officer will ensure spatial datasets are accurate, accessible and fit-for-purpose, and support the preparation of data and standard outputs that enable higher-level spatial analysis, planning and decision-making.
Who will join our journey …
Our ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Spatial Sciences or an applicable tertiary qualification with specialisation in spatial information management/Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Technical attributes will include strong capability in GIS data management, editing and QA/QC; experience with ESRI suite (ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, web/mobile apps); ability to prepare clean, structured data sets for analysis and competence in producing clear, standardised cartographic outputs. FME skills would be a bonus.
From a behavioural perspective, you will have high attention to detail and data accuracy, a service-first mindset, the ability to prioritise and manage multiple operational tasks, collaborative approach to support analysts and operational users and a willingness to learn new technologies. You will also have the ability to work autonomously as well as a member of a small team. A current drivers licence is required for this position.
