The bare roots of the job ...
The GIS Administrator will maintain and develop our ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online system. This will involve:
▪ implementing best practice management and backend maintenance of server-side GIS technology
▪ SQL databases and related applications
▪ developing systematic solutions for operational teams
▪ normalisation and synchronisation of corporate datasets within the ArcGIS Enterprise environment; and
▪ configuration and development of mobile, web and desktop GIS software to support business requirements.

The incumbent will also be involved in establishing automated data pipelines within Forico’s digital infrastructure as well as to/from external stakeholders. In addition to, providing support to forest planning, operations and management decision making processes. This will require ongoing communication with internal clients to ensure the Enterprise GIS is fit for purpose so that staff can easily access spatial and resource data to inform such decision making.

Who will join our journey …
Our ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Spatial Sciences or IT, in addition to being proficient with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise suite of products, SQL server and FME. DBA skills, and experience implementing AI into business processes (especially geospatial) would also be advantageous.

We are looking for a service-first mindset, with the ability to communicate technical information easily to their stakeholder group. An individual who is adaptable, has excellent organisational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and as a member within the team.
