The bare roots of the job…
We’re looking for an experienced Sustainability Advisor to join our Enterprise Performance team at Techno Park. This pivotal role will lead the management of Forico’s highly valued certification programs and ensure compliance with best-practice forest management standards – a cornerstone of our business.
You’ll play a key part in delivering sustainability outcomes across our forest estate, contributing to annual reporting, ecosystem services initiatives, and continuous improvement of our management systems. The position offers a unique blend of office-based strategy, travel to Forico sites, and hands-on fieldwork – perfect for someone who enjoys moving from the office to the forest.
Collaboration is essential. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to implement innovative environmental strategies and maintain our reputation for excellence in sustainable forestry.
Who will join our journey…
If you are someone who is dynamic and adaptable, with a strong safety mindset that aligns with Forico’s 'Work Safe, Home Safe' ethos we would like to hear from you. You’ll need excellent communication skills, the ability to champion sustainable forest management goals, and confidence in learning new systems and processes. A solid understanding of sustainability principles and forest management standards is ideal - or a willingness to grow into these areas.
If you enjoy balancing strategic thinking with hands-on problem solving and you thrive in both office and field environments, this role will suit you!
The successful candidate will ideally have:
A passion to promote the importance of nature based solutions and sustainability;
A relevant tertiary qualification (environmental, forestry or other) and/or equivalent experience;
Sound knowledge and understanding of sustainability principles and forest certification standards (FSC®, Responsible Wood, ISO 14001);
Experience in managing audits and liaising with certification bodies;
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills;
Strong computer literacy, and;
A current driver’s licence (C class)
Added expertise that’s a plus:
Experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS);
Internal/Lead auditing qualifications;
Project management experience
